As summer begins, we want to make sure you have access to the 2025–26 school year overview calendar: https://www.twincedars.k12.ia.us/page/calendars The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025. A quick reminder: all daily school events—such as no-school days, Board meetings, concerts, conferences, athletic events, and more—are now entered into the Bound calendar. This calendar, previously used only for athletic events, now serves as our comprehensive event calendar. You can access the same up-to-date calendar from multiple places: the district website, our district app (available in your app store), and the Bound app directly. Whenever an event is added, changed, or canceled, the district updates it in Bound, and the changes automatically sync across all platforms.

Twin Cedars CSD is looking for a Day Custodian for the 25/26 school year. The position will be $14 an hour and working hours will be 6am-2:30pm. This position will be required to work everyday that school is in session and the month of June. Mrs. Moody needs help parking cars this Saturday, May 31st from 4-8. This would be a great opportunity for those who want to potentially become an FFA officer (any high school student, 9-12) to step up and help out! Parents and students are welcome!

The 5th grade SHELKS (TAG) shared two projects with family members today. The first project was the Ziggurat Marble runs. Students read about Ziggurats when they were learning about Ancient Mesopotamia. The 2nd project they shared was their clay animation slideshows. Leah's was titled "The Jungle", Michael's "The Yahtzee Rat-green" and Will's "Makeshift Mayhem" It was fun to watch these projects come to life and listen to the conversations while they were working. Thank you vey much to the family members that attended today to see their projects!

The 2nd Grade TCATS completed Genius Hour projects and then shared with their classmates. Emberlyn taught us the basics of Fortnight and to play safely, Beckham taught us about the Portugal flag, Tucker shared facts about how school was invented, Wyatt shared facts about a bull's horns, Lijah shared the digestive system of a cow, Charlotte taught us about Cleopatra, Jaxon shared facts about the Canadian flag and Jarrett answered the question "why do bees go extinct?" Mr. Bennett asked what does the word extinct mean and Kolby gave us a great answer! Thanks to Mr. Bennett for helping with holding the posters. Nice job 2nd grade TCATS!

Dear Saber Elementary Family, Mrs. Burk is retiring after this year. She would be honored if all of the students and staff would wear "Saber blue" so she can get a picture with everyone that has shared this special time at Twin Cedars. We ask for this to happen on Thursday, May 22. Let's send Mrs. Burk off with all of the love and support she has shown us over the years! Saber Pride!
